The First Snow...

My first German snowball

It snowed today while we were at school! I could not concentrate in class, because all I wanted to do was look outside the window and watch the flakes fall. The city looked like a winter wonderland: the houses were all sprinkled with powder sugar, the ground was covered in a thin, white blanket, and the trees were decorated with sparkling icing. Nothing could ever be as beautiful as this, I thought. It was not until the trip back home, however, that I began to see the downside to snow in the city. By the time we reached our bus stop, what was once a perfectly snow-glazed sidewalk was now a brown river of slush! Thank goodness for water-proof snow-boots and thick winter jackets. =)

  1. oh wow! that is so awesome! i am still just wearing a fall jacket to school! it gets around 7 at the coldest. : ) half the people on the bus are wearing the thickest jacket i think they own, then i am there in just a "mantel" enjoying my day, only a little cold when people want to stand outside for our breaks. i don't understand why...
